“Badrinath” is a great hindu pilgrimage destination, situated in the Chamoli District in the state of Uttarakhand. It is one of Chardham, situated in between Nar and Naryan Mountain Range of Garhwal Hills. It is lies on the bank of Alaknadnad River with at an elevation of 3134 meters above the sea level. The name of “Badrinath” received from “Badri”, it were barriers grow near the abundance. Badrinath is decorated with the backdrop of Neelkanth Mountain peaks. The destination is one of the most religious shrine of Hindus and one of the holy destinations. Thousands of the devotees from all over the world not only the country also foreigners visit this destination and got the blessings of Lord Vishnu. The destination is dedicated to Lord Vishun and it is believed that this is the place where lord Vishnu visit and meditated. According to the legend it is believed that Adi Shankracharya constructed this temple in 9 th century and the idol of Lord Vishnu found in the Alaknanda River, It was made of black Shaligram Marble, but the present temple made by the Garhwal king. The Badrinath Temple is one of 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu. The idol of Lord Vishnu situated in the temple is in the meditative Posture and the other 15 idols are present in the temple all made of black stone. The temple is one of Panch Badri and the other four are Yogdhyan Badri, Bhavishya Badri, Old Badri, and Adi Badri situated near the temple. The destination is offered the amazing beauty of all surrounding and close to charming destination Auli, one of the best skiing destinations. Badrinath temple is open on the special day of Akshya Tritiya of last week of April or first week of May every year and close after two days of Diwalion the day of Bhai Duj.
